Why Real Wood Flooring?

There are many different types of flooring, though nothing comes close to real wood flooring. Wood flooring is beautiful and gives off a special warmth, combined with a fantastic effect once laid.

Solid wood flooring can make an amazing transformation to your home. Not only will it increase the value over the years, it will enhance the décor of any room or area.

Looking after any type of wooden floor, whether it be a hardwood floor, soft wood floor or exotic timber floor couldn’t be easier. With technology moving forward so rapidly, floor stains and finishes have been developed so that your timber floors need little more than a sweep or hoover.

We recommend and stock a series of professional cleaning products designed for your specific type of solid wood flooring. This will ensure that you have the correct product to best suit your type of flooring and the finish applied to it.

Wood is a natural resource therefore is renewable and recyclable. Another excellent benefit of having a wooden floor is the fact that it does not collect dust or allergens, this makes them much more hygienic and very ecologically friendly.

There is a vast selection of different timber floors ranging from oak floors, pine floors, walnut floors, engineered board flooring to exotic timber flooring for example Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba, Maple, Beech and Teak to name but a few. This means there is a lot of variety and today real wood can be very affordable.

Once the decision has been made to have a wooden floor installed or to have your existing floor sanded or restored you may wonder what will happen next.

  • After your initial enquiry we will arrange a free, no obligation home design and consultation appointment. This will enable us to assess your requirements, survey the works required and calculate an estimate. This is then detailed in writing.
  • Once the estimate has been approved and accepted by you a small deposit is required to secure materials and a date in the diary.
  • Works are then undertaken on the specified dates to the highest standard.
  • Once the works are completed to a satisfactory level final payment is then taken.
  • Advice is then given on floor cleaning and maintenance products.
  • Our after care service is second to none with all our works guaranteed for 12 months subject to terms and conditions.

The final thing to keep in mind is that no two boards are the same. As the floor ages some colour change can occur. This is normal. To minimize this risk, limit exposure to direct sunlight and periodically move furniture. Cracks ARE normal and will appear and disappear depending on the season and humidity.
